Morocco 2 Weeks itinerary

Day 1: Arrival to Casablanca» Rabat

These 14 days Morocco itinerary starts with a pick-up from the airport or your accommodation. Then, we start exploring Casablanca city which considered as the economic capital of Morocco. Start with a visit to the iconic Hassan II Mosque. An incredibly and magnificent Mosque overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, Also it considered the 2nd in Africa and the 7th largest in the world. This architectural masterpiece is a true marvel that combines beauty spirituality and exquisite craftsmanship. After lunch,we stroll along Casablanca’s Corniche. Then we drive to  the capital Rabat to spend the first night in your accommodation.

Day 2: Rabat Capital» Asilah

Today, we begin our journey by exploring Rabat which is the current capital and one of the four imperial cities in Morocco.We will explore the best attraction of this city such as the breathtaking Hassan Tower. A massive minaret that was left unfinished. Also we will visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and Kasbah of the Udayas. After lunch, we continue to Asilah, a charming coastal town known for its beautiful beaches, whitewashed buildings and vibrant art. Overnight in a nice hotel.

Day 3: Asilah» Tangier» Chefchaouen

Today, we travel along the coastline to Tangier known as the bride of the north. Where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean sea. It has a rich history, besides that, it has been ruled by various civilizations throughout the centuries, including the Phoenicians, Romans, and Europeans. As a result, it has a unique blend of cultures, traditions and architecture.We will visit the most famous tourist attractions such as the Caves of Hercules, a natural wonder located on the outskirts of the city. After that, the magnificent Cap Spartel  an excellent place to have some nice pictures with a pretty lighthouse overlooking the ocean.Then, we continue through the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen. Overnight in a charming Riad.


Day 4: Free Day Chefchaouen Sightseeing 

Today, after a leisurely breakfast, you will have the whole day to explore the charming city of Chefchaouen or Chaouen. Also, known as the Blue City located in the Rif Mountains north of the Morocco And it considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Additionally, Chefchaouen is famous for its stunning blue architecture that covers the facades of buildings and streets. Giving the city a unique and enchanting beauty as well as an atmosphere of relaxation and peace.
 
A simply walking around will lead you to enjoy the beautiful blue alleys,the impressive doors,windows and colorful scenes. As well as making it a haven for photography enthusiasts. This extraordinary city offers leather workshops, textiles,handicrafts,Berber carpets are found in its blue alleys. At the end, definitely taking a short hike up to the Spanish Mosque that sits on a hilltop to admire a fabulous  sunset view from above is the perfect way to finish off a long day of sightseeing. Day 5:  Chefchaouen» Volubilis Ruins» Meknes» Fes

After Breakfast in your accommodation, we continue our 14 day Morocco tour itinerary, our first stop will be the Roman Ruins of Volubibis. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the well-preserved archaeological sites in Morocco. Here you will admire the ancient Roman architecture and mosaics dating to the 3rd century. After that, we head to Meknes, one of the four imperial cities of Morocco, which has many famous sites. For example, the fascinating Bab EL Mansour, a huge gate built by Sultan Moulay Ismail. We will then head to Fes. Overnight in a Riad.

Day 6: Fes  Sightseeing Guided Tour

Today, after breakfast, you will take a guided tour to explore the vibrant city Fes with a knowledgeable local guide. Stepping back in time, discovering the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the enchanting Medina Fes. Such as the Chouara Tannery, one of the oldest tanneries in the world, dating back to the 11th century. In addition to the beautifully decorated Al Attarine Madrasa,the Nejjarine Fountain,The Jewish Quarter (Mellah) and the Golden Gate of the Royal Palace. And also, the University of Al Quaraouiyine is one of the oldest and most Islamic universities in the world, dating back to the 9th century. Furthermore, the Medina with its narrow streets, bustling souks, Berber carpets and handicrafts of this fascinating city. In the afternoon, we will take you to a panoramic place to enjoy an amazing view over the Medina of Fes. Turn back to your Riad.


Day 7: Fes» Ifrane» Azrou» Midelt» Merzouga Desert

After Breakfast,we head to Ifrane,a beautiful town known as the Switzerland of Morocco for its European architecture and low temperature. It gets covered in snow during winter. Then, we continue to the Cedar Forest of Azrou to see the Barbary macaques and take some photos with them. While enjoying the stunning landscapes of the area. After that, we drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains to Midelt, where lunch will be served. After lunch, we set off for Merzouga desert through the Ziz valley, which is one of the largest oases in Morocco.
 
In the afternoon, we reach Merzouga Sahara desert, where your camels are waiting for you to take you on an unforgettable experience. Enjoying the beautiful desert scenery while crossing the dunes on a camel ride. A stop will be made for you to climb a high dune and take memorable photos of a magical sunset. Before heading to your desert camp.You will be greeted with a cup of tea. While you have time to relax and enjoy a delicious dinner. Followed by an evening of listening to Berber drums music and dancing around the campfire, under a vast open sky of stars overnight in the camp.

Day 8: Merzouga Excursion» Visit Nomad Family» Desert Mines» Khamlia

A wake up early  is highly recommended to enjoy a walk through the dunes to witness the magnificent sunrise over the dunes. After a delicious breakfast get ready to immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage and breathtaking landscapes of the region. We will be visiting the real nomads to explore their way of life under their handmade woven tent.While drinking a cup of tea with this simple family.Additionally to visit Mifis.This mysterious place has a fascinating history as it was once home to miners extracting kohl. An ancient eye cosmetic that is commonly used as eyeliner!.
 
A visit to Khamlia village is really worth it!. Its inhabitants are originating from Sub-Saharan African countries and practice the famous Gnawa folklore. Gnawa music’s melodies will greet you and take you back in time with some dances. Free time for lunch in a restaurant you may want to discover the taste of Medfouna (also called”Berber pizza”). Finally, we take you back to Merzouga in order to complete your day by relaxing or diving in the swimming pool at your hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Merzouga Desert» Rissani» Erfoud» Todra Gorges» Dades Valley

Today, after a delicious breakfast our  Morocco 2 week itinerary continue to Rissani, the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty, we will visit the traditional large souk. Known for its spices, ceramics and traditional clothing. Then we continue to  Erfoud a desert town known for its fossils, there’s a possibility to visit a fossil manufactory to discover regional fossil finds.
 
Afterward, we travel on the Road of 1000 Kasbahs to Todra Gorges to enjoy a scenic walk through the spectacular Morocco’s Grand Canyons. A series of limestone red cliffs that stretch skyward reaching up to 300 m. Take a moment to immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring beauty of this sight. Before, we set off to the beautiful Dades Valley. An area of exceptional natural beauty and incredible rock formations is surrounded by a tapestry of sprawling green valleys. At that moment surrender to the serenity as you enjoy the stunning views that surround you. Dinner and overnight in a nice hotel.

Day 10:  Dades Valley» Rose Valley» Skoura Palm Groves» Ouarzazate» Ait Ben Haddou» Atlas Mountains» Marrakech

After breakfast, we make our way to the outstanding Valley of Roses, which is famous for its annual Rose Festival during May every year.Where locals offer a variety of Rose products such as rose water,oil, soap and perfume.  Then we drive through the vast palm groves of Skoura. Once we reach Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Africa. We will visit Taourirt Kasbah a former palace owned by the El Glaoui family. Afterwards, we continue to visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which stands between the Sahara desert and Marrakech has been used as a location for many movies, including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, the renowned Game of Thrones and many others. After lunch, we head to Marrakech via the Tizi n-Tichka pass (2260 m), with stops to take photos for the breathtaking views.  Finally, we arrive in Marrakech. Overnight in a Riad.

Day 11: Marrakech Guided Tour

On the 11th day of  your 14 day Morocco tour,you will take a guided tour to explore the enchanting city of Marrakech. One of the imperial cities  considered to be the home of mosques, Palaces and Gardens. A medieval city dating to the Berber Empire. Exploring the city highlights of Marrakech walking through the Souks. The place where you can purchase spices, textiles, ceramics, Berber Carpets and other traditional Moroccan goods. Also, pay a visit to the Koutoubia Mosque, which is one of the most cultural landmarks in Marrakech and a stunning example of Moorish architecture. Saadian Tombs, Bahía Palace. Also visit the famous Ben Youssef Madrasa. In the evening you will have free time to visit Djemaa el-Fna Square on your own. Day 12: Marrakech» Essaouira

Today, we drive to the coastal town of Essaouira, Known as Mogador. Get ready to be mesmerized as you step inside the stone ramparts. During our journey through the land of Argan. An exciting opportunity awaits to visit the women’s cooperative of argan oil. We may also meet goats climbing argan trees feeding on the fruit and leaves. As soon as we get to our destination, we start exploring the enchanting city of Essaouira. Which is famous for seafood, picturesque beach and thriving surf scene. We will be visiting the Fishing Port to enjoy a colourful fleet of blue boats. During your time, there’s an option if you desire to partake in exciting activities such as horse trekking or quad biking along the sandy coastline with a modest price. After a day of exploration, you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 13: Essaouira» Casablanca 

Today, after breakfast. Take the last stroll wandering through the narrow streets of the UNESCO-listed old Medina. Characterized by its whitewashed buildings, blue doors and amazing art scene. Where you can browse through local shops selling handicrafts, jewelry, and textiles. After that,we depart from Essaouira and make our way to Casablanca along the scenic coastline. Offering picturesque views along the way. Once we reach Casablanca,you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 14 : Transfer to Casablanca airport

Today after breakfast, we will arrange your transfer to Casablanca airport to see you off depending on your flight time. Then the end of this 14 days in Morocco.

I am so glad we picked Morocco Holidays for our first-ever trip to Morocco.
